Lakeshore Select

ABOUT LAKESHORE SELECT

Our Lakeshore Select teams are geared for driven lacrosse players seeking a competitive environment to develop their skills and elevate their game. As the next step beyond our Rec lacrosse program, Select teams offer more consistent practices, advanced instruction, and local tournament competition to challenge players at the intermediate level. The mission of our Select teams is to help athletes grow with confidence, compete at a higher level, and prepare for advancement to our Premier Orange & Blue teams when ready.

ELITE COACHING

Lakeshore Select teams are led by high-level coaches who match our players’ passion, dedication, and drive to excel. We believe success starts at the top, which is why we are highly selective in the coaches we bring into our program. Most of our Lakeshore Select coaches are involved as coaches at the high school level throughout Chicagoland.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Our curriculum emphasizes fundamental skills with attention to detail in correcting proper mechanics, footwork and concepts, especially at the youth levels.. These skills will become the building blocks to excel as they grow, develop and gain greater understanding of game scenarios / lax IQ and team concepts.

Outside of the set annual team schedule, Lakeshore provides additional opportunities for training to supplement team practices; from position-specific classes to small-group instruction. We support multi-sport athletes and believe that offering add-on options promotes well-rounded athletes with flexibility to excel at lacrosse along with other passions.

EXPOSURE & RECRUITING

Lakeshore Select competes in local tournaments in and around Chicagoland. Our goal is to attend competitive local events that challenge our teams while limiting extensive travel requirements as compared to our Premier teams that compete nationally. For top Select players who are driven to play at the collegiate level, we offer recruiting packages to support this goal and their process.

RECRUITING SUPPORT

The goal of Lakeshore Select is to develop athletes to compete at their max potential while providing the right opportunities for exposure to interested players. While not all players strive to continue playing collegiately, we offer add-on recruiting support to help interested players navigate the recruiting process. Lakeshore has partnered with BeGrittyRecruiting to bring expertise and experience to a traditionally overwhelming time for student-athletes.

Meeting of the minds from our Lakeshore crew 🙌🏻
-
This is what you might see as an outsider but what you might not realize is the time, energy and heart that goes into coaching - off the field. Planning practices, communicating with parents, giving player pep-talks, brainstorming fresh ideas, being on-call for players ... the list goes on. We ask a lot of our coaches and are selective about those who are invited to be a part of our Lakeshore family! Today we celebrate our awesome coaches who bring the passion, knowledge and fun!
