HISTORY

In the early 2000s, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse was just starting to take root in Illinois. The sport was largely unknown, offering few opportunities for young athletes, especially girls, to learn and play.

Lakeshore was founded in 2003 to meet the need for dedicated, high-quality programming for female players in the Chicagoland area. A company started by women, centered on coaching by women who have played the game.

LEADERSHIP

Lakeshore’s leadership team brings unmatched experience and credibility, with over 38 combined years of coaching at the collegiate and club levels. Their success speaks for itself: multiple state and national championships and four prestigious Coach of the Year honors. Amanda Kammes (IHSA Rookie Coach of the Year 2021; Coach of the Year 2024), Lindsay Baer (IHSA Rookie Coach of the Year 2023), and Chris Button (NACC Coach of the Year 2021) lead a program defined by excellence. Amanda alone has coached more than 65 USA Lacrosse All-Americans and over 120 Division I athletes—an extraordinary testament to player development at the highest level.

Since taking the reins in 2018, Amanda Kammes has propelled Lakeshore into national prominence, establishing it as a respected powerhouse in Midwest lacrosse. Under her leadership, Lakeshore has introduced cutting-edge training programs that are widely recognized as some of the most elite and effective in Chicagoland—consistently producing results and elevating athlete performance.
